Japan based international corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd was established on October 15, 1896. Named after its founder Shozo Kawasaki,,the company deals in utility vehicles, power equipments, ATVs, and motorcycles along with a range of other products. The American head quarter was inaugurated in 1966 in Chicago in an old meat warehouse. Their first entrants into the American motorcycle market were the Kawasaki Samurai and Kawasaki Avenger, and both bikes created a fair amount of curiosity about the company and eagerness for their next launch. In 1969, Kawasaki followed up their successful entry into the market with yet another head turner, the Kawasaki Mach III - a two stroke, 500 cc motorcycle that gave Kawasaki its highly due world recognition. By 1973 they launched their flagship motorcycle the Kawasaki Z1, a 900 cc, four cylinder motorcycle that paved the way for Kawasaki's unprecedented ride to the top.

Kawasaki also produced four series of motorcycles for the police force, namely the KZ1000P Police, the KZ1000C Police, the Z1-P, and the KZ900 Police Special. Produced between 1982 and 2005, the KZ1000P Police is the most commonly utilized motorcycle by the police force and is also known as the KZP. The 900cc Kawasaki Z1-P was launched in 1975. 1977's KZ900 Police Special was an upgraded version of the Z1-P. The KZ1000C Police was built between 1978 up until 1981; it was intended to compete against Harley Davidson's creations for the police force. Kawasaki has designed and manufactured over 50 different series of motorcycles. Their most popular motorcycles were and still are the Ninja series and the Vulcan cruisers. Currently Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd annual revenues leaps beyond the three quarters of a billion point. Kawasaki motorcycles offer durability, consistency, high performance, superior quality along with outstanding looks to match.
